Gloriavale families flee religious community and arrive in Timaru

Two more Gloriavale families have fled the secluded religious community in the past two weeks, making their way to Timaru to adjust to life outside the West Coast community before they resettle.

One of the families, with 12 members, left the community on Friday, staying on the West Coast for the past few days before arriving in Timaru on Tuesday night, while the other smaller family arrived in the town last Tuesday, Gloriavale Leavers’ Support Trust general manager and support worker Liz Gregory, of Timaru, said.
