The school at the West Coast’s Gloriavale Christian Community is at the centre of an investigation into child safety.

Police, Oranga Tamariki and the Ministry of Education are investigating allegations students have been mistreated.

It is understood some staff have been stood down at the school, which has 204 students from year 1 to 11.

Police confirmed they were undertaking a comprehensive review of Gloriavale matters, while an Oranga Tamariki spokeswoman said an investigation was under way.
