Gloriavale is a reclusive and abusive ‘Christian’ community in the remote South Island of New Zealand. In the first part of our conversation with Rosanna Overcomer, who was born into the community, Rosie shares what her childhood looked like inside Gloriavale. We discuss schooling, playtime and child labour. Rosie also shares her harrowing experience of giving birth to 3 of her children inside Gloriavale, and she compares it with her experience of birthing 3 more children, outside of Gloriavale.
