This session will provide an accessible overview of what defines a cult, using the Bounded Choice Framework to explain how people become trapped in these groups. We’ll discuss the serious harm cults cause, including widespread abuse, health issues from medical neglect, and deep psychological impacts.
The seminar will also address the differences between those who join cults and those born into them, highlighting the emotional manipulation involved in recruitment. Finally, we’ll explore the recovery process and how society can play a crucial role in supporting survivors. This seminar is essential for anyone interested in understanding the effects of cults and how to aid recovery.
