Value Proteins, the Gloriavale-owned commercial meal processing plant badly damaged by fire on Friday night, says it will safely resume operations “as soon as possible”. In a statement todya, Value Proteins said the localised fire at the processing facility at Lake Haupiri had been contained by firefighting efforts.
“The incident was contained to the boiler shed, which sustained structural damage. Safety protocols were successfully activated, and there were zero injuries’,” a Value Proteins director said.
“Value Proteins extends its gratitude to Fire and emergency NZ and our on-site (firefighting) team for their professional response, which quickly brought the situation under control.”
The fire had caused “a temporary shutdown” of the rendering plant.
