Survivor Reflection Day – BBQ, Firepit & Fireworks and a new Office!
Written by Liz Gregory
National Reflection Day was an evening full of warmth and connection. Gloriavale Leavers, Staff, Supporters, and Volunteers gathered around fire pits, children ran and played, and everyone enjoyed a meal and a chance to catch up. As the sun went down, fireworks lit up the sky – a simple but powerful reminder of freedom, friendship, and how far this community has come. These photos capture the heart of the evening: people relaxed, smiling, and celebrating life together.
Many thanks to the leavers who delivered powerful speeches to mark National Survivor Reflection Day – Rosanna Overcomer, Virginia Courage, Faithful Disciple, Zion Pilgrim and Pearl Valor. Thanks to the Royal Commission Survivor fund for sponsoring this event.
Listen to the speeches below and don’t forget to watch right to the end where you can enjoy a highlights reel of the evening of fun and celebration.
Office Opening
Our thanks to special guest Jo Goodhew who officially opened our new offices, and to all the people who supported the Gregory’s to make the offices possible. It was such a please to be part of this collaborative project over the past two years! (Even if we were still staining the deck the day before the opening!)
