Ex Gloriavale member – “It almost seems like what he’s done is maybe not that bad”

A Gloriavale man charged with sexual offences against five children has had his jail sentence reduced.

Timothy Disciple has lost his name suppression – but he’s also had eight months shaved off of his prison term under an appeal – with a judge citing his cooperation and good behaviour.

He will now serve just 21 months behind bars.

Former Gloriavale member Virginia Courage joins us now – before she left in 2019 she was best friends with Timothy’s wife.
