A former Gloriavale man who faces a string of allegations relating to sexual offences against children has had fresh charges levelled at him.

The man, who has name suppression, pleaded guilty in August 2021 to 11 charges of sexual offending against children – at least one under the age of 12 – but denied a further 27 charges.

Five new charges of committing an indecent act were laid against the man in the Greymouth District Court on Tuesday.

The charges relate to one complainant and the offending is alleged to have happened at the Gloriavale Christian Community between 2010 and 2018.
