Education specialists have been working with Gloriavale School, with a fresh review due. The school needs to pass the review in order to keep its funding.
The Education Review Office visited last October and found the private school was not providing an adequate education. It determined the school did not meet many of the criteria for registration as a private school. Ministry of Education spokeswoman Nancy Bell said the school asked for help from people interested in supporting them with curriculum matters. “We provided names of potential people that might be interested.”
Ministry staff visited Gloriavale School each month to discuss progress against their work programme. “ERO will be back later this year and will carry out a further assessment on whether they meet the criteria for registration as a private school.”
