The head of Gloriavale has admitted abuse happened at the religious community.

Howard Temple is making a rare public appearance at the inquiry into abuse in care and faith-based institutions.
He was questioned about an incident where a man was accused of sexual assault.
“Well I suppose you could call it sexual abuse, he said his intentions were wrong but nothing ever happened,” he said.
He’s denied open knowledge of sexual abuse but says other forms of abuse happened in the open.
“Sexual abuse can be kept pretty well quiet between the two people and neither one of them broadcasts it out, that’s quite possible.
